Thierry Pauporté is graduated in Chemistry from the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon, he received his Ph.D in physical chemistry from Montpellier II University.​

His research interest fields include the chemistry and physics of semiconductors, the functionalizing of material surfaces. He conducts researches on the integration of films and structures in efficient devices. The applications studied include perovskite solar cells, dye-sensitized solar cells, light emitting diodes, nanosensors, photodetectors, photocatalysis, wettability and fouling.
