Dr Ion Țurcanu received his Ph.D. degree in information and communications technologies from the University of Rome Sapienza in 2018. He received his M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in engineering in computer science from the same university in 2014 and 2011 respectively.
He joined LIST as research & technology associate in 2021. Prior to this, he was postdoctoral researcher at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT), University of Luxembourg. In 2016, he was a visiting scholar with the Distributed Embedded Systems group at Paderborn University, Germany.
His main area of research is cooperative networking systems characterized by highly dynamic topologies, with applications to domains such as intelligent transportation systems. This includes communications protocols for multi-technology vehicular networks, time-sensitive networking for in-vehicle communications, and next-generation cellular networks. He served on program and organization committees of several leading wireless and networking conferences including IEEE WCNC, IEEE CCNC, IEEE VNC, and IEEE/IFIP WONS.
